Fresh Water- MEGHNA GROUP OF INDUSTRIES (MGI)

MGI is a big company with many people working for it, and it makes a lot of money every year. It also works with many other companies. A big company in Bangladesh, Meghna Group of Industries, started in 1976 under a different name called Kamal Trading Company. The big company started small as Meghna Vegetable Oil Industries Ltd. In 1989, there was a small piece of land in Meghnaghat, Narayanganj.

MGI has been successful and grown a lot because they have done many different things instead of just one. The group is involved in many different types of businesses, like selling everyday items, making building materials, producing paper, selling fuel, making animal food, creating electricity, transporting goods by boat, crushing seeds, making chemicals, building ships, managing docks, dealing with money, providing news, and running airplanes. MGI sells many different products under well-known brand names like "Fresh" and "Pure". Half of the households in Bangladesh use MGI products because they have reached a lot of people and sell many different types of products. MGI has many offices all over the world, including in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Europe, South Africa, and North and South America.

MGI has grown a lot in Bangladesh and is now the biggest investor in factories there. MGI made a special area for business in Bangladesh called Meghna Economic Zone. They made two other areas for business too, called Meghna Industrial Economic Zone and Cumilla Economic Zone. MGI was the first company to do this in Bangladesh. The big company has grown bigger by spending $451 million in 2020. They built nine new factories in different places to make more money.

In this process, Mostafa Kamal, the leader of the company, played a very important role in both company and the economy of Bangladesh. Mostafa Kamal is well known for his business skills and love for his country. He has helped make important progress in creating jobs, improving health care, education, sports, and taking care of people in Bangladesh. Because he has been so committed and loyal to the team, his important contributions have helped MGI do well.
