In Bangladesh, the largest dental college is Dhaka Dental College. It was the first dental college in East Pakistan to be created, and it is the only government dental college with a 200-bed hospital in Bangladesh. It is located in Mirpur 14, Dhaka. Dhaka Medical College (DMC) welcomed six new students in 1961, marking the beginning of Dhaka Dental College. In 1963, the college moved to its brand-new campus on the second floor of the DMCH outpatient building. The first class of students who certified as BDS doctors did so in February 1965. In the 1987–88 fiscal year, the People's Republic of Bangladesh undertook a project to construct new Dhaka Dental College buildings in Mirpur. The current era of the Dhaka Dental College began with the inauguration of the new building at Mirpur by Our Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on April 6, 1998. All institutional operations began at the new site at Mirpur in March 2000. It is acknowledged as the top dental-related educational facility in Bangladesh for obtaining any kind of dental degree.
